Every year in the month of December, Insulators Local 2 brings its holiday cheer and celebrations by hosting its annual holiday party. Last year’s Insulators Local 2 holiday party brought a packed house at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel in Station Square. Local 2 members and their guests came dazzled and suited to come together to recognize accomplishments, wine and dine, and take a moment to have some well-deserved holiday fun.
The ballroom was decked out, drinks were flowing, and the DJ was playing away as members and their loved ones filled the dance floor. Pictures were snapped and smiles adorned the room. It was a jolly time and one for the memory books!
In addition to the Local 2 holiday festivities, members were recognized for their accomplishments. Starting at 15 years of service, each qualified member received an honorary pin to wear proudly. This person is thereon honored every five years after. Notably, the 2019 Jackie Kane Union Participation Award was presented to Local 2 member William P. Birmingham. This member has earned this prestigious award in appreciation of their participation and efforts on behalf of Insulators Local 2. The award is presented by the grateful members of The Pensioners Cub, L.U. #2.
Though this holiday season may look different as we navigate life’s challenges and continue to keep everyone safe, we are thankful and blessed to have these keepsake holiday memories and traditions. We also look forward to a future when we are in a room altogether celebrating life’s accomplishments with our fellow brothers and sisters. In the meantime, we will stay positive and cherish the counted blessings we will all have this holiday season.
