Managing Stress During The Holidays

The holiday season is often referred to as the most wonderful time of the year. Unfortunately, it can also be a stressful time for many families. That’s why we want our members to know that Local 2’s benefit plan is full of options to help our brothers and sisters get through obstacles. Whether it be the financial burdens brought on by the holidays or grief that many deal with around this time, there is no shortage of resources our union has made available.

On top of our extensive health benefit plan that includes coverage for mental health services, our members also have free access to our all-new Employee Assistance Program. We are excited to announce this year that we’ve chosen to utilize Perspectives Ltd. for this value-added service.

One of the services they offer is free and confidential counseling, both virtually and in-person. For this holiday season, they are also providing people with a complete guide of tips to help navigate their mental health. Whether mentally, physically, financially or emotionally, this guide gives tips on how to cope and get through some of the added pressure and anxiety that comes along with this time of year.

In addition to your health benefits, you can always lean on your Local 2 leaders for guidance. Business Manager, Jim Cassidy, continuously preaches the importance of taking care of your mental health.

“You’ve got to stay on top of your mental health. If you start to feel anxious or depressed, there are people you can count on and resources you can take advantage of. If you don’t know what to do, call me, or call one of the agents and we’re more than willing to help any way that we can,” Jim Cassidy says.

We hope all of our members have a joyous holiday full of family, friends and fun. And if you are looking for assistance with your mental health, or would like to view Perspective’s holiday guide, click here-> bit.ly/45Nh4y5
